BIG KAHUNA FILMS worked alongside Memac Ogilvy Dubai to produce a campaign for Expo 2020. The campaign focuses on how the world comes together in a magical way, to create a better tomorrow. Expo brings everything we want to see and experience first-hand, an exciting future which opens doors to many opportunities, with the commercial showing an insight into new technology, innovation, sustainability, architecture, fashion, food, art, music and culture. The piece encourages the making of a new world.
The film itself is cinematic and engrossing, allowing viewers to be taken through the scenes as though they are there. The balance of humanity and spectacle creates authenticity and wonder. The shoot took place in Dubai, over a 5-day period with over 500 cast, showcasing all nationalities from around the world. Organization was key, particularly with a short deadline to meet and over 8 various languages to deliver for the final campaign.
Martin Aamund, a Danish director, brought the campaign to life. He has a knack for true-to-life emotional storytelling, displaying a lot of humanity, which makes his work immediately recognizable. His films usually are large-scale, yet substance and a unique style is still very apparent throughout.
